InsureWithMax explains ChildMax Insurance

1. Peace of mind, knowing your children are covered for 7 medical conditions from accidents and 12 major illnesses, listed in the policy.

2. Prepared, as your salary will be paid within 30 days of your claim being agreed.

3. Flexible, so if needed you can return to work part-time or other basis.

Why have ChildMax insurance?

A seriously ill child places a strain on the family. You’ll be able to give your child the time they need during both the medical crisis and the recovery period, knowing that ChildMax is paying your take home salary on a monthly basis for a whole year while you’re on unpaid leave. Claim payments are tax-free and if needed, you can choose to return to work on a part-time or other flexible basis.

Can everyone buy ChildMax?

Yes, so long as you are a UK resident. Your children must be over 3 months old and under 18 years old and either natural (biological), step (from marriage) or legally adopted.

How long does the cover last?

For 12 months. You can renew ChildMax every year to suit your circumstances. For instance, you can increase or decrease your cover in line with your salary and the changing needs of your family.

How much does it cost?

Starting from £49.50 for £1,000 monthly take home salary. The amount you pay depends on your pay, the number and age of your children. For example, if you have two children, aged 4 and 6, with a £1,500 monthly take home salary, then the amount you’ll pay will be £88.37 per year. With a 3 year-old and the same take home pay, you pay just £50.54 per year.

What’s covered?

12 illnesses and 7 medical conditions from accidents, as listed in the policy. This includes: aplastic anaemia, bacterial meningitis, benign brain tumour, blindness, cancer, coma deafness, kidney failure, loss of a hand or foot, major organ transplant, multiple sclerosis, paralysis of limbs, stroke, third-degree burns, or traumatic brain injury.

How easy is it to claim?

It’s very easy. Once our UK claims handling team agrees your claim, ChildMax pays your claim within 30 days. You choose the best date to start your leave from work. This can be during your policy or any time within 10 months of the policy coming to an end. If needed, you can choose to return to work on a part-time or other flexible basis. ChilldMax pays the difference between your monthly take home salary and your lower earnings.
